The Company:
RUNEL was incorporated in 2004 to take over the activities of two companies that were operating in the energy sector-- Southern Volta Gas Ltd was in the distribution of LPG and other petroleum products while Souvolgas Manufacturing Ltd was involved in the design and installation of alternative and clean energy such as solar and biomass systems in rural and peri-urban areas. RUNEL is actively engaged in these activities. It is a wholly Ghanaian owed company with seven principal shareholders who have distinguished careers in education, business, medicine and related fields. RUNEL is licensed by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) as an OIL MARKETING COMPANY.
Our Mission:
To provide critical energy needs of the rural communities in Ghana and beyond for a determined profit. This mission places on RUNEL the rare and huge corporate social responsibility of informing customers of the impact of our activities as well as playing an active role in these areas with regard to social development and sustainable environmental management.
Our Vision:
To become the best energy service provider for rural and peri-urban areas in Ghana and beyond using the three pillars of innovation, unique customer service delivery and people centered management.
Our Growth:
Even though the company started operations in late 2007, it has grown from a three station without-canopy company to one which today owns and operates ten (10) outlets. This includes three LPG outlets in addition to one franchised outlet spread out in five regions of the country. Sites have been acquired for future development of outlets. Organic growth strategy has been adopted as the best method for controlled growth. Synergy may however be sought from individuals who can demonstrate enough managerial competence and financial muscle enough to fly the RUNEL flag after a careful analysis.Sites acquired for future development are as follows:
